Happy Birthday, Mylo!

Well, my sweet boy turned five today. Mylo is officially a "big kid". I "quote" that because, when I was pregnant, I stumbled upon the website Babycenter.com. It is this wonderful bounty of information that I tirelessly combed and carefully tracked my weekly progress. On the top toolbar of this website is a long timeline. It starts with the various stages of your pregnancy, on to baby, toddler, preschooler, big kid, and finally ends at age 9. Mylo has reached the "Big Kid" bracket and it makes me a little sad. Time goes so fast, it's almost unfair. When Mylo was tiny and I was going through all those long days with a newborn/baby, I couldn't imagine him being a big boy. Now that he is big, I find it hard to remember every detail about him being tiny. That makes me sad too. I'm typing this post with tears in my eyes as I reminisce and have to pause to yell at the "Big Kid" to stop fighting with his brother. :)

Anyway, Mylo decided to celebrate by going to McDonald's to eat and play on the playground. A blast was had by all and I ate about 40 too many french fries. After, we headed to our house where my Mom brought over a monster cake and Mylo opened a present. He decided to save the rest of his loot for his birthday BBQ on Saturday.

Best part was when Mylo hugged me and said, "Thanks for the birthday, Mom."
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MYLO!!

October!

October is a BIG month in our house. Mylo and Maxton both celebrate birthdays... we have Halloween... and it's the official start of the holidays! Fall is my most favorite time of year and we're all looking forward to saying goodbye to this seemingly endless summer.
I like the days where you can stay in your jammies all day and hibernate!

Pearly Whites

We had our very first trip to the dentist today. Mylo got a cleaning (and two fillings) and Maxton watched to prepare himself for his turn. We went to The Dental Depot on 35th Ave/Greenway. It was the COOLEST place ever. The three of us are pretty into trains. Especially Maxton. This office is for both children and adults and was very nicely done.
There are a few different Mylo did a crazy good job for his very first time. He listened and didn't cry or even flinch once. After we were finished, I asked if it hurt at all. He said it did a little, but he never showed it.
Mylo thought it was pretty cool that he got a new toothbrush and toothpaste. I thought it was pretty cool he got a train tshirt for his first visit!
