Easter 2012

We had a nice Easter weekend. Saturday, Dad and SuAnne came over for a late lunch and we colored eggs with Mylo and Maxton. Tony and Andrew spent the weekend with their mom so we only had two dozen to color. Mylo and Max had a blast coloring eggs, hanging out w/ their Papa and showing off for GiGi.

My Dad is fabulous at woodcarving and made a figurine/statuette as a Congratulations for Andy's and my engagement.
How cool is this?! ....and how special!!
Mylo got a toolbox to carry his big boy tools in. Handmade and painted by his Papa!

Right on!! Treasures for sure :)

Easter Sunday, we slept late, dug through the easter baskets, and hunted for eggs. Mom came over for a late lunch and made delicious spice cupcakes. MMMMM

I love Springtime!

Let the hunting begin

Got one

Hmmmmm

Hope you're Easter was a happy one!

Accidentally Awesome

So, last week I planned on making a delicious looking Rosemary Chicken Bake. Turns out, I was out of rosemary. I have a tough time getting through a plain ol boring chicken breast on my plate sooooo I decided to wing something new.
I cut up the boneless/skinless chickies into chunks.....Cooked them in pan w/ some olive oil and chopped onions. I added potatoes and celery, covered and cooked until mostly tender. Next, I added a can of Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup that I had in the cabinet as well as one can of sweet corn and one can of sliced carrots.

I had a packge of 2 rolled pie crusts in the fridge. I rolled em out and put my mixture in the middle. BOOM...pot pie! I'd never made a pot pie before, but it was dang good and one of those, look-what-just-happened dishes.

Ps. Thanks for the pie plate, Mom. YAY!

March Birthdays

Wow, I have a lot to catch up on! Last month, we celebrated Andy's birthday and my mom's birthday. We just had casual dinners at home with cake of course!

Mom's cake. Prettiest store-bought cake EVER and so delicious! Thanks, Target.

We had yummy birthday dinners and I made a toasted butter pecan cake. I found the recipe on Pinterest. It was very tasty and VERY rich.  I love birthdays!!
